“I really shine this time of year…..”

Direct quote from Santa Claus himself (Tim Allen). Okay, so Fall has arrived in the McManaman home. (It’s September, so I’m not as premature as usual.) Fall decor has been up since the last day of August and as of yesterday we have the weather to go with it. Windows open all day and the thermostat read 69 degrees at dinnertime! I posted pics of the pumpkin decor that is now gracing as many rooms in our house as I could put it. I haven’t bought any pumpkins yet, but you know it is coming. I have a couple mums on the porch that I plan to put in a black cauldron, but I don’t have any dirt. I don’t think Clint would be happy to find a big hole in the lawn the next time he mows. I don’t need alot, just enough to fill a pot. I think just potting soil would kill the plants. (I digress.) Anyway, the fall scented candles are a’blazin’ and I’ve been eying that can of pumpkin the pantry..that I probably moved from Oklahoma. I’ve set a dated for Miss Mac’s first birthday party (Nov 10th), which of course will be a festive fall event. It’s my excuse for the over-decoration that has taken place. I found this great pumpkin cake recipe, not flat, that I am tempted to try. It’s so cute. But we’ll see. Anyone else giving in to the fall itch? Becca has already confessed to getting her pumpkins out…anyone else brave enough to share?

oh man, I’m the worst– the first day of August I put away all patriotic decor and pulled out all the fall decor– couldn’t wait– and we are just now getting the weather to go along with it!! You should see my house– I even have a year round “Christmas” tree if you want to call it that– but I put what ever season decor on it– currently it has a scarecrow, pumpkins and fall leaves :) makes me smile :) My hubby just rolls his eyes and deals with it! lol– And for the b-day party, I did the same for Jordan’s first b-day– since his b-day is on the first day of fall, I had a pumpkin shaped cake (at least it looked beautiful in the picture)– I didn’t make it like the picture– and I had scarecrow cupcakes for everyone else– pumpkins and falls leaves everywhere— it was fun! :) So enjoy!
