After a recent trip to Best Buy, Clint and I are pleased to announce the arrival of two new members of our family. The XBOX 360 and the Frigidaire Freezer. It is the latter that I am the most concerned with today, or at all. It’s been here less than a week and I have been busy stocking it with goodies. After a tip from Ginger English, I decided that someday when I had a freezer I would roll cookie batter into balls and then freeze them on a cookie sheet. When frozen, pour them in a zip-lock. Then when I want to bake cookies, the work is done and the mess has already been cleaned up! Well, that day has finally arrived and I am pleased to say that there are 3 kinds of frozen cookies in my freezer right now! (Snickerdoodles, Gooey Butter Cookies, and Chocolate Chip, in case you’re wondering) This morning I decided to bake some for Clint to take to work. I placed several on a baking sheet, put them in the oven, and then set it to preheat. By preheating the oven with the cookies inside, they are thawing while the oven warms. I’m thinking it speeds up the baking time, but who knows. Seemed like a good idea. They still only had to bake about 10 minutes. So successful that I mixed up a double batch of chocolate chip ones today. I also baked 4 mini loaves of Banana Bread and a batch of Cheesy Muffins (new recipe I found on the way to the bread recipe.) Now they would only have to thaw, since they have been baked. I know what you’re thinking…she is feeding her Obsessive Compulsiveness….and yes….I’m aware of that. But it’s so much fun.
