*This was the first night he got them…we don’t usually allow Conner to drink pop and wear his underwear on his head.
Okay, so as I have said before, we are potty-training. And if anyone would like to put in their application for a nanny, send ‘em on over! We were pretty much set, for a month, except for the pooping (anywhere but where it goes). He was reliable. Now he has pretty much decided that he could take or leave the whole thing. He pees in his pants at home, but always wants to use the potty at the grocery store(when the cart of full of groceries)? He doesn’t want to pee if he’s playing, but if it’s bedtime, he acts like he is on the last leg of a 20 hour drive! He is running to the bathroom, rippin’ his pants off all the way, and yelling POTTY!!!!! Then it’s all over the place! Clint came home one day right after Conner had been in there on his own and thought the toilet was leaking. Today I walked in to see him peeing straight ahead, at the shower curtain! But the pooping is so much worse! Sometimes he hides under Maylee’s highchair or bed, when she’s in it! Poor Maylee, we think he is trying to frame her. But today takes the cake. Conner and I were on the deck, talking to Gma Debbie on the phone. Conner is sitting under the table, looking at leaves, right at my feet. The next thing I know, the pants are off and he has pooped on the deck! I hang-up the phone and ask him when he became a puppy. He looks at me and pees…..thankfully not in my direction. This whole scenario took only moments! Although I have done everything short of following him around with a bedpan and a bottle of disinfectant, I think our house smells like a day-care/rest-home. But it is probably just in my head…or my nose. My real dilema now is trying to decide between spreading out newspapers or buying a litter box.

you so make me laugh! And I totally understand! He’ll get there– like I said before Jordan just now decided that pooping on the potty is cool and he’ll be 3 on Saturday– although, he never did anything like your incidence today on the deck! That’s pretty funny! (and frustrating!)
Before Jordan would poop on the potty, we always knew that if he hid from us and got really quiet, that he was pooping– sure enough, we’d find him bending over behind the chair (or wherever!)– thank God he’s finally getting it! Especially with #2 baby on the way! All’s I can say is good luck and bribe like crazy!
Thanks for the encouragement. Speaking of Baby #2, how are you feeling? I’m so happy for you!
I will vouch that your home does not smell like an old folks home! As smart as Conner is, he may not be fully ready for the potty training. No biggie. Try again in a month or so!
omg… that is to funny … but hopefully it will get better… i know my step mom is trying to potty train my little brother( he will be 3 in jan.) and he will only go potty in his pants but when he is fully nude he wont do it… obviously she only lets him be this way at home… but its still funny cause everytime i go over there he running around the house naked….
in response to how I’m feeling– pretty good I guess– except for the nausea, tiredness and back aches
lol– this pregnancy has been a lot different from Jordan so far– lots more nausea :(– hopefully that will be done in 4 weeks when I’m in my 2nd trimester!
Update: 2 poops in the potty…. and then an “accident”…..but we are making progress!
@Holly: I was sicker with Maylee. Deathly ill, all day, every 3 or 4 days. Maybe it’s a girl!
I’m hoping for a girl– Robert wants another boy– so we’ll see!! And congrats on the 2 poops on the potty! Any success is great success!
OMG — you crack me up. Congrats on Conner’s 2 poops on the potty. My granddaughter Shelby was completely potty trained by the time she was 2 but my grandson Kale is still working on it and he’s 3 1/2. I think girls take to it better. Kale has finally stopped pooping in his pants — and under and behind things — but still has to wear pullups at night. One thing you might try — I did this for Kale and it worked — for peeing. I bought him a “Peter Potty”. It’s a little urnal and he loved it. I saw it on TV and since he was having such a hard time potty training thought it might help. There is a website you can go to — http://www.peterpotty.com or I think Babies R Us carries it. Just a suggestion. Things at the courthouse have really changed. I just stay in my little office. I really enjoy reading about you and your family. You need to be writing books!!!!
@Cindy: I have never even heard of the Peter Potty?! I’ll have to check it out. I bet Shelby is so big now! All your grandkids are so cute. Just keep hiding in your little office….and stay out of the drama.
That has to be the funniest rendition of potty training war story I ever heard! Still laughing!
