ok, martha– thanksgiving is next week and I’m baking a pecan pie and possibly a pumpkin pie– that past 2 years I’ve made a pecan pie using already made pillsbury pie crust (the refrigerated kind)– when I baked the pecan pie, I pretty much burnt the crust trying to get the pecan pie firm– so any suggestions? I would actually like to make the crust from scratch– do you have a tried and true recipe? And have you ever made a pumpkin pie from scratch? (pumpkin and all?)– any help would be appreciated!

very cool video! It’s amazing how fast they grow– Jordan just turned 4 in September! He is getting soo big! And Caden is now 7 months old! Wow!! Soon we’ll be celebrating his one year old birthday before we know it!

I’m bad about letting Nate load the disc changer and then leave town. I never change it. I’ll listen to whatever I like over and over. In the car… Dixie Chicks or Over the Rhine. over and over. Knitting: Over the Rhine, and Norah Jones, and Al Greene, and Sade, and AKUS and okay, so most folk music.

Finally. Anytime after the feast of Thanksgiving is concluded… Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas album is fair game. Particularly track #2 All I Want for Christmas is You. Cooking, cleaning, driving, ?bathing? well… hmm. The other holiday album that we confess to having played through the year a couple years ago… Barenaked Ladies. Ian fell in love with it. he does a killer Ladies’ jingle bells imitation. If you haven’t heard it. Listen. you must. And then call and listen to ian.

Oah and Heidi. I made your party cookies today. Guh-reat. Thanks for the recipe. I’m taking them to a party tomorrow but I think half of the batch had been eaten by the time I was done baking. The boys like ‘em!
